Rakesh, Kotomi and I went all in with a full-on 7-hour GitHub Copilot workshop, covering presentations, live demos, video tutorials, keynotes, and hands-on 3x persona-based labs. From front-end and back-end development to full-stack, data science, data engineering, DevOps, and more, we explored how GitHubCopilot is revolutionizing the way we code.

🔥 The highlight of the day? The power of CopilotEdits' Agent mode - taking AI-assisted development to a whole new level! It's not just about suggestions; it's about transforming how we build, optimize, and innovate.

Our 1st in-person & online GitHub Copilot workshop of 2025 was a big success! 🎉 Over 100 participants from Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane joined us to learn, explore, and share how GitHubCopilot can elevate our development experience.

💡 The story I shared during the Copilot presentation, reflecting on my 20 years as a coder. If I have 500 lines of legacy code to rewrite for a migration project:

🔹 20 years ago (when I was young and naive 😎), I would've started typing away ⌨️ - taking days to complete. 🔹10 years ago (when I was young but no longer naive 🤔), I would've googled tools 🔍 to do migration. 🔹Now (when I'm neither young nor naive! 😅), I definitely ask GitHub Copilot to have a go first. ⏳ 15 seconds later, it generated working migrated code in another language & just one minor bug found in testing! ✅

After a full day of workshops, labs, presentations, and hackathons, we wrapped up with drinks 🍹 and great conversations. To top it off, I even scored a free mini gin bottle - winner! (I will drink responsibly).

AI Innovation in Action at Anko Idea Forge's Epic Hackathon Sessions! 🚀Insight Cloud App team is honored to host three engaging sessions with Anko GCC, taking dev team on an action-packed journey into AI development! Together, we explored the power of AzureAI and GitHub Copilot, equipping innovators with the tools to build the next generation of AI-driven applications on Azure.

🔥 Primer Session 1: AI Apps on Azure by Ahmed We kicked things off with a deep dive into Azure's powerful AI ecosystem, exploring how to build GenAI applications. From prompt engineering exercises to demos, participants got their first taste of AI-driven innovation.

⚡ Primer Session 2: Azure AI services & GitHub Copilot by Daniel Taking things to the next level, we explored a number of AzureAI services and LLM techniques like RAG and saw firsthand how GitHub Copilot can supercharge coding - boosting speed, efficiency, and creativity.

🏆 Hackathon & Challenges by Ajay 2-hour live demo on building an AIApp, followed by real-world problem statements featuring six GenAI challenges designed specifically for Anko. Participants will take these challenges home and apply their skills to tackle these AI use cases and drive innovation.

🔜 What's Next: Feedback & Demo Winners will be crowned, 💡solutions will be showcased next week, and we'll witness firsthand how AI is making a real-world impact. With over 60+ super keen participants, the competition is fierce!

This is just the beginning! AI is revolutionizing app development, and with Azure AI & GitHub Copilot, the future of innovation is in our hands. 🤖⚡

Lucky! 🍀 My AzureAI and CosmosDB hackathon project was a winner (honorable mentions) and featured on the Microsoft Azure Cosmos DB Dev Blogs last October (just noticed it) ! A few weekends of hard work truly paid off! ✨

This AI hackathon had over 9,500 developers world-wide engaged with Azure Cosmos DB and Azure AI services, making it one of the most popular on Devpost, ranking in the top 0.2% of all Devpost hackathons. 🔥

On a scorching Sydney day, we turned up the excitement even more with our GitHub Copilot Excitement Day! 🎉 The room at Perpetual Limited was packed with energy as developers, data engineers, and DevOps teams came together to explore how GitHub Copilot is shaking up the way we work.

We led a hands-on session demonstrating how Copilot can streamline coding and enhance efficiency. The day sparked vibrant discussions on fostering creativity and collaboration across teams. We also shared real-life examples of how Copilot is already helping us tackle challenges and achieve impactful results. 🚀

A massive shoutout to everyone who made the day unforgettable, especially Jan and Ross for organizing the session! Great to see Insight teammate Alpesh and Praveen in the room too!

My amazing Insight teammate, Rakesh, and I had the pleasure of hosting another engaging session with the ME Bank / BOQ Group in Melbourne. 🌟 Fantastic job, Rakesh and Ahmed, on successfully running three sessions this week!

The enthusiasm in the room was fantastic! Everyone was eager to explore what Copilot can bring to our day-to-day workflows. From automating repetitive coding tasks to boosting productivity, the possibilities are truly exciting!

🚀 EPIC 'Excitement day' at Kmart Australia Limited HQ! Insight hosted two sessions of hands-on labs with the fantastic Kmart team, diving into the wonders of GitHub Copilot. The energy was off the charts! From seasoned pros to adventurous coders, everyone was excited to see how copilot could boost our day to day coding experience. We explored C#, Java, Node.js, React, Terraform and even classics like COBOL and BASIC! 💻

A huge shoutout to Duane G. Sachin Walia for making this event such a blast, and Microsoft GitHub for making it happen. The excitement in the room was contagious, and we can't wait to see how Copilot will boost efficiency and ignite innovation! 💡
